A larger programme with separate task types
The second World Humanoid Robot Games ran from 22 to 26 August 2026 at Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval. The pre-event notice listed 51 events, comprising 30 competitive events and 21 scenario-based events. It reported 666 registered teams and 2,056 registered robots. [1]
These are programme and registration figures. They do not tell us how many robots finished a task or completed it without help. The listed 1,301 competition sessions also include separate rounds and should not be read as a robot success count. [1]
A race time and a connector task
The closing report gives Tiangong Omni a time of 45.66 seconds in the small-group 400 m race. It also describes a charging-service task involving three vehicles. Robots had 30 minutes to handle the connectors through unplugging, charging and returning them. [2]
The first number is a reported result. The second is a task requirement. The closing report does not give an attempt count or a success rate for that charging task. A reader should keep those two kinds of evidence separate.
Rules that changed between editions
The 2026 advance notice describes tighter track time limits and more scenario events. These are announced requirements, not evidence that every entrant met them. [1]
| Measure | 2025 value in the 2026 notice | 2026 value |
|---|---|---|
| 100 metre time limit | 3 minutes | 1 minute |
| 400 metre time limit | 15 minutes | 5 minutes |
| 1,500 metre time limit | 40 minutes | 15 minutes |
| Scenario events | 6 | 21 |
The notice also states autonomy requirements with exceptions. Keep its distinction between specified track events and other competitive events when assessing a particular result. Do not infer a robot's control mode from its finish time. [1]
Inside the charging task
Connector handling involves several observable steps. The robot must establish a grasp, align the connector with the socket, insert or remove it, and recover from a failed alignment. A task-completed label combines those steps into one outcome. Counting insertion failures and retries would identify which part limits repeatability.

Evidence limits
- The closing report supplies selected outcomes rather than a complete set of attempt-level records.
- Autonomy and intervention conditions differ by task; no common autonomy score is inferred.
