The Hangzhou edition
IROS 2025 ran from 19 to 25 October in Hangzhou, China. Its official PaperPlaza archive remains a useful starting point for readers following humanoid control, manipulation and robot learning. The archive links to the technical schedule, author names and a keyword index. [1]
Two papers to start with
| Paper | Programme entry | Task and hardware |
|---|---|---|
| The Duke Humanoid Design and Control for Energy Efficient Bipedal Locomotion Using Passive Dynamics | Tuesday 21 October, TuDT20.2 | A 10 degree of freedom biped used to study walking and passive dynamics |
| Generalizable Humanoid Manipulation with 3D Diffusion Policies | Tuesday 21 October, TuBT20.2 | A 25 degree of freedom upper-body platform on a height-adjustable cart used for manipulation |
These are selected examples, not a complete review of humanoid papers at IROS. The official programme supplies the conference entries. The preprint and author project pages supply the experimental descriptions. [2] [3] [4]
The experiments answer different questions
The Duke Humanoid paper studies bipedal locomotion. The diffusion-policy project studies manipulation using a cart-mounted upper body. Calling both humanoid research does not make them tests of the same capability. [3] [4] [2]
The Duke preprint was first submitted in September 2024 and revised in March 2025. Its IROS 2025 programme entry is a conference record, not evidence that the work first appeared during the conference. [3] [4] [2]
Using the programme record
The linked programme was labelled tentative and last updated on 18 October 2025. Use it to identify entries and sessions, then follow the paper and author links for the research record. [1]

Evidence limits
- The PaperPlaza archive retains a tentative-program notice. A schedule entry alone does not establish that the presentation took place.
- The archive is used to locate authors and sessions, not to infer paper results, awards, attendance or acceptance rates.
